An unusual bow fronted Regency period secretaire bookcase. Made from Cuban mahogany, the bookcase has a pediment top above twin glazed astral doors that open to reveal adjustable shelving. The base has a secretaire drawer that drops down to a fully fitted interior including a concealed drawer that is in the fall front part. The base part has twin panelled doors that are well figured and behind is a fully fitted cabinet including a lead lined cellaret drawer. The quality of the bookcase is fabulous and it is strongly attributed to the workshops of Gillow. All the handles are original and the bookcase is  good colour.

“A superb and unusual Regency bookcase with a really great fitted base that is undoubtedly by Gillow."
