Fine Antiques From William Cook

Welcome to the website of William Cook, a name long established in the world of fine antiques. Opened in 1963 by my father, we were initially restorers of fine antique furniture undertaking work for clients including The Royal Family, museums, collectors, dealers and private individuals from across the globe. Following several years’ experience working with one of the country’s leading antique dealers and Christies of London in 1991 I established William Cook, the independent antique dealing side of the family business. Specialising initially in eighteenth and early nineteenth century furniture, which is still the core of our business today, during the last thirty years the range has broadened to now include Asian screens, lacquer pieces, paintings, decorative objects, works of art, mid-century furniture, fossil art and occasionally, just something great. Our original restoration business, W.J.Cook & Sons continues and is now run by my brothers maintaining the family tradition of restoration excellence.

With a shop in the English market town of Hungerford we also hold a full stock in American and the location of each item featured on the web is clearly identified. We also of course offer a full shipping service. I frequently travel to America to meet with clients often sending out new items in advance of a visit. The exhibition calendar is a full one and we exhibit at a number of UK antique shows as well several antique fairs across America, details of which can be found on the event page. Twice yearly colour catalogues are produced and should you wish to receive future copies please get in touch.

I hope you enjoy our web site and let us know if you need further information or are looking for that special piece. If we haven’t met in person I look forward to doing so in Hungerford or at one of our future antique fairs either here in England or in America.

Regards

William Cook
