Retaining the original thick marble top, the table is of an unusual design and is veneered in figured olive wood. With a single drawer, that has an ormolu brass swan handle, it stands on a platform base that has a central inlaid parquetry star. The Savoie region borders Italy and France and was contested over during the 18th and 19th centuries, finally becoming part of France in 1860. The table shows elements of both Italian and French design and is of a good colour.
