A superb PAIR of early 19th century Japanese screens. The four panel paper screens on wood frames and then gilded and decorated. The screens illustrating a Japanese village by a lake and retaining the original painted decoration and gilt. To find pairs of screens such as these and in such original condition is very unusual and when hung on a wall the look spectacular.
