A Regency period breakfront bookcase of small size. Dating from the early 19th century and made from Cuban mahogany, the bookcase is of excellent quality throughout. The doors are feather banded and the cupboard base doors are inset with curl panels. The color is very good as is the cabinet making and from the quality, design and overall style the bookcase is attributed to the workshops of Gillow. Also note should also be made of the fact that it stands on unusual bun feet which stops it looking too “planted”. The top interior has glass shelves and is lit thus making it ideal to act as a display case for porcelain.

“This is an ideal bookcase for an elegant drawing or dining room and with its smaller than normal proportions, it will fit where most breakfront bookcases wouldn't."
