During the 1930’s/40’s Lester’s Of Chicago were one of North America’s premier theatre costume designers and manufacturers. Their designers were accomplished artists and after being briefed on the productions theme, these coloured drawings would then have been presented to the producer in order to secure the contract for the costumes. The theme in this instance was obviously a Scottish one and these designs retain their original vibrant colours.
