A Scottish Regency longcase clock. Made from well figured Cuban mahogany, the clock has an eight day movement by Mitchell & Son of Glasgow. The well decorated painted clock face shows ladies dressed for the four seasons around the dial and in the top, English customs and excise officers both raiding illegal Highland whiskey stills but also taking bribes to ignore them. The face has both a second and calendar dial. The colour and patination of the mahogany case is absolutely first class and at only 83.5″ high, this clock will fit into any room. The eight day works strike the hour and the clock is in good working order.
