Veneered in rosewood and with fine quality marquetry inlay, the table with a swivel and fold over top above a central fluted, shaped and carved column. On a marquetry inlaid platform base that has well carved bracket feet. The quality, colour and patination are all excellent. From the design of the marquetry inlay and style of table, a link can be made to the workshops of George Bullock (1782-180). Bullock was a leading cabinet maker of the Regency period and his clients included Queen Charlotte (Queen to George III), the major Stately homes of England (including The Dukes of Abercorn, Atholl and Buccleuch), as well the British Government for whom he made furniture for the exiled Napoleon on St. Helena Island.
