Made from best quality Cuban mahogany, the chair is completely original throughout and a great colour. Its claim to being Jamaican is strengthened by its close similarity in design to a full size Jamaican Windsor armchair with provenance, as well the remains of a makers label to the underside of the seat which shows it was made in Trelawny. Trelawny is a county in Jamaica that was established in the 18th century. Examples of Jamaican furniture, especially those like this example with great colour and originality, are few and far between.
