An original Prince of Wales investiture chair that retains the original decoration and fabric upholstery. On the 1st July 1969, Prince Chairs was crowned the Prince of Wales by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Caernarfon Castle. For the ceremony, guest chairs were designed by Lord Snowdon and made in Wales. They feature in gold leaf the distinctive Prince of Wales plume in the back. After the ceremony guest were allowed to purchase their chair for twelve pounds.
