Made from Cuban mahogany, these chairs are known as Uxbridge Library Reading Chairs as a similar designed chair was supplied by Gillow to Henry Bayly, Ist Earl of Uxbridge in 1807. They are of a good scale and colour. They have leather squab cushions and are comfortable to sit in. They have recently been purchased from a private vendor and need some minor restoration to one of the cane arms..
