Made from Cuban mahogany, these chairs are known as Uxbridge Library Reading Chairs as a similar designed chair was supplied by Gillow to Henry Bayly, Ist Earl of Uxbridge in 1807.  They are of a good scale and colour. They have tufted silk squab cushions and are very comfortable to sit in.

"A very elegant pair of Regency period library chairs that are attributed to Gillow."
