A late 19th/early 20th century bronze by Carl Kauba (1865-1922) of a native American entilled SHOT IN THE EYE. On a marble base, the bronze is clearly signed by Carl Kauba. During the late 19th century Kauba toured the American West where he sketched and modelled life in America. On returning to Austria he sculpted his bronzes, which were cast at the Roman Works. Examples of his work can be seen in The Art Institute of Chicago and The Smithsonian America Art Museum, as well as private collections in America and UK.
