Veneered in figured rosewood, the table has four drawers to the frieze and stands on a central column base with the quality and colour both being very good. In the early 1950’s and after the festival of Britan in 1951, Archie Shine became a high end producer of British mid century furniture. In 1957 Archie Shine Furniture took on board Robert Heritage as a designer with his furniture soon becoming very popular with the wealthy. His pieces, that were made in the East End of London, were retailed by Harrods, Heals and many other top retailers throughout the UK.
