A pair of well framed Chinese ancestral portraits from the Quing dynasty (1644-1912). The portraits are in ink and color on paper and show a husband and wife, both depicted dressed in their fur lined winter court robes. The husband wears a dark blue robe with a civil rank badge bearing peaches and bats and his wife also wears a rank badge over the center of her vivid red robe. Both have green plum blossom pattern blankets over their chairs and marble foot rests with great detail being paid to their faces, ornate jewelry and accessories. Their hands on both are hidden under robes. Circa 19th century. They are framed with a white brocade border framed under glass in matching gilt faux bamboo frames.
