The mirror is veneered in highly figured and burr walnut with a shaped original mirror plate that is bordered by a carved and silver gilt slip. It has a gilded Ho Ho bird inset into the top and the quality and colour are both excellent. Whilst George Ist (1720) in style this mirror was made circa 1900. There was a fashion at this time to re-produce furniture of the George Ist period and these commissions were undertaken by the best cabinet makers, a fact reflected in the excellent quality of this mirror.
