With a crossbanded oval frame that encloses the original mirror plate that stands on a serpentine base, the mirror is veneered in West Indian satinwood. It is of excellent quality, colour and patination. Georgian examples of such mirrors in West Indian satinwood are very rare and an example such as this, that is original throughout without question would have been an expensive commission for an important patron.
