In the George II style, the mirror has a mahogany cross grain moulded frame with an inset painted panel. Retaining the original inset mirror plate, it is a very useful proportion being tall yet narrow in width. It is of good quality and colour with the decorative panel retaining the original painted decoration. During the late 19th/early 20th century, a London firm of cabinet makers made these mirrors in the George II style using the same 18th century cabinet making techniques as the originals and even aging the backs to make them look of the period.
