A 19th century three fold decorated screen. This highly decorated screen is painted with exotic birds in the style of Melchior d’Hondecoeter. He was a 17th century Dutch animalier artist who virtually exclusively painted exotic or game birds in park-like landscapes. Its not known when the screen was painted but with its fabric paneled back that has a gilt wood border, the actual screen dates from the 19th century. It is highly decorative and can be floor standing or mounted on a wall.
