A 19th century French bronze ‘animalier’ study of an English pointer. In the manner of Pierre Jules Mene, this finely cast study of a male pointer is depicted in a characteristic alert pose and mounted on a naturalistic rectangular plinth base. It has excellent detail that conveys the power, intelligence and agility of the breed with defined musculature and anatomical correctness. It has a consistent patination and colour and is in original untouched condition.
