Dating from the mid 19th century, the bronze shows a sitting classical maiden. The quality and detail of the subject is very good and the bronze is signed. Henri Dumaige exhibited his work at the Paris Salon and the Academie des Beax-Arts from 1862-1877, where he was widely acclaimed for the variety of his oeuvre. He sculptured in bronze, plaster and marble.
