Standing on the original marble plinth base, the bronze is by the leading 19th century Austrian sculpture Fritz Schaper (1841-1919). It is of excellent quality and is of the German Composer Richard Wagner who composed during the 19th century, with perhaps one of his most famous composition being The Ride Of The Valkyries. It is of a good size and the marble plinth base measures 7 inches wide by 6 inches deep. The bust is signed and dated 85 with a Akeian-Gesellschaft Gladenbeck foundry mark.
