A rare and large Queen Anne period mirror with original engraved plates.

Circa: 1710

Height: 59"

Width: 25"

Period: Queen Anne

Location: Hungerford

A rare and large Queen Anne mirror. With a carved and gilded frame, the mirror has a crested top that like the lower part encloses the original engraved and bevelled plates. Mirror plate of this period would have been very expensive especially on a mirror of this size and this mirror is further elevated by the fact that the plates are also engraved. The back boards are original.

“Its incredible that the rare engraved mirror plates have survived for over 300 years and this mirror has real presence especially as its nearly five feet tall."
