A Rare 18th Century Yew Wood Veneered Tallboy

Circa: 1760

Depth: 21.5"

Height: 74"

Width: 40"

Period: 18th century

Location: Hungerford

Veneered in figured and burr yew wood the tallboy has a parquetry inlaid and moulded cornice  above graduating drawers that are banded and retain their original swan neck handles. It stands on shaped bracket feet and is a very good untouched colour with a wax patinated surface. It is unusual to find a tallboy of this period in burr yew wood.

"It is very rare to find a chest on chest of the 18th century veneered in burr yew wood."
