Dating from the mid Regency period and made from well figured Cuban mahogany, the sideboard retains the original brass gallery. The top gallery section with sliding tambour front cupboards and the sideboard with further cupboards, drawers and a large middle linen drawer. Standing on turned tapering legs the sideboard is of excellent quality and a rich patinated colour. This sideboard would have been made for an important and large country house and it is unusual in that despite being much wider than normal, it is still only 24″ deep. The height to the top of the brass gallery is 59″ (150cm) and the serving height is 39″(99cm). The height given (46″/117cm) is to the top of the mahogany gallery section.
