A pastel study of a cowboy breaking in a wild horse by Leslie Charlotte Benenson (1941-2018). With great charm, this pastel and pencil drawing has the artists notations of when it was drawn. It retains the original colours and as was her technique, would have been drawn in real time. Benenson was a member of the RA (Royal Academy) in London and exhibited her work there on a number of occasions. She travelled in the USA drawing the cowboys at work as well as competing in the rodeos. She exhibited at the Royal Academy and her work can also be seen in the Ashmolean in Oxford as well as numerous private collections.
