A 19th Century George III Style Mahogany Armchair

Circa: 1890

Height: 39"

Width: 22.5"

Location: Hungerford

Made from Cuban mahogany, the chair is in the George III Hepplewhite style. It has carved decoration to the back and front legs and is of excellent quality and a good colour. During the late 19th century, some of the leading cabinet makers reproduced the designs of the late 18th century but made them to a slightly larger scale. This means this chair is ideal for a tall person and can be used as a desk chair or in the drawing room. It has recently been upholstered from the frame using traditional materials and techniques and is comfortable to sit in.

“A quality armchair of large scale that is deal for a desk or drawing room."
